Common questions
My case has been pending for years. Can anything be done?
Often, yes. The first step is a review of the case file and the order sheet to see why it has stalled. Many delays can be addressed in the trial court itself before the High Court needs to be approached.
Can the High Court order a lower court to decide my case quickly?
The High Court can, in suitable cases, direct a subordinate court to dispose of a matter within a fixed time, using its supervisory jurisdiction under Article 227 or its inherent powers in criminal matters.
Can you take over a case from my current lawyer?
Yes, with a no-objection from previous counsel or the court's leave. We will need the full case file and the latest order sheet.
